To do so, we use your full length practice test and performance data as well as information you provide about your GRE preparation experience to determine how we’ll proceed with your tutoring.
We don’t just open a book and start reviewing practice questions. We start with topic-specific lessons that identify your strengths and weaknesses and focus on areas you need to strengthen, and we adapt those lessons as we go to maximize what we accomplish in each session. We don’t just teach. We actively work with you to analyze and optimize the ways you approach answering GRE questions.
We understand that GRE success involves a combination of understanding a wide variety of content and being a savvy test-taker with strong time-management skills. So, in addition to teaching high-value concepts, we discuss key test-taking strategies during each lesson.

Is a GRE tutor worth it?
If you’re struggling with the GRE, private tutoring sessions could be a game-changer for you. An experienced tutor can help diagnose sticking points, accelerate the learning process, break bad habits, and keep you motivated and on track to your goal.
Do you offer packages of hours at a discounted rate?
To maintain a flexible private tutoring experience for our students, we do not offer tutoring packages. Rather, all tutoring sessions are offered at an hourly rate, so you are never locked into a number of tutoring hours that may not fit your evolving needs.
What is your policy if I need to cancel or reschedule a session?
We do not have a formal cancellation policy or impose a fee for canceling a tutoring session. We ask only that you respect the time of our tutors and try your best to give advance notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session.
Do I need special equipment for online tutoring sessions with TTP?
You do not need any specialized equipment, such as a pen tablet or dedicated headset, to connect with a TTP tutor. You simply need a computer that has a microphone. If necessary, you can also use a phone for your tutoring sessions.
Should I still use the TTP self-study course if I get private tutoring?
The TTP self-study course will continue to be a key asset in your GRE prep as you work with a tutor. In fact, working with a tutor will help you more efficiently move through the TTP course, and your tutor will be able to pull data from the course to help personalize your tutoring sessions. For many students engaged in GRE test prep, tutoring and the use of online resources go hand in hand.
Do I need to purchase the TTP self-study course to engage with a TTP tutor?
Although using our self-study course is not required, it is suggested. Having access to the TTP course will give you a structured way to study when you are not with your TTP tutor. Also, your tutor will help craft the best possible path through the TTP course, so you can make the most of both tutoring and self-study.
